Why should I choose RETAIN over another creatine?

We can’t tell you what’s in other creatine powders - how they’re made, what else might be in there, or where they come from. But we can tell you RETAIN is manufactured in Chino, California in the USA. The manufacturing facility is certified by the FDA to the highest cleanliness standards (CGMP certified), and we contracted a private third-party testing facility to verify the quality and contents of our finished products. We aren’t sure of many other creatine products that can make the same claims. 

We treat our premium creatine like a precious product, and don’t ever blend it with other supplements, fillers, or preservatives, and we ever let it be exposed to high heat, like creatine gummies that mostly destroy the creatine particles. 

Is RETAIN made from CreaPure (TM)?

No. Creapure has a great reputation and appears to be an excellent product. RETAIN is held to the same standards and undergoes a very similar manufacturing to end-user process, without the added costs of a trademarked ingredient. RETAIN is every bit as effective as Creapure without the added costs.

Does RETAIN make you bloated?

Creatine bloat is usually a side-effect of low quality creatine, poor micronized creatine, or stomach sensitivity to a creatine supplement without any food. RETAIN premium creatine is finely micronized and easily absorbed, so it won’t cause any bloat. If you have a sensitive stomach, be sure to take your creatine with a meal or shake to make it even easier to absorb. Note: People who choose to take on a loading phase (we don’t usually recommend one) are more susceptible to bloat in their first week of creatine supplementation.

How often should I take RETAIN?

Your muscles do a poor job of storing creatine for extended periods of time, which is why daily creatine supplementation is important. Try not to miss a day for the first 7 days, and from then on do your best to take it daily, but if you miss a day once your muscles and brain have built up their stores, that’s okay. Even two, or a third day every once in a while.

Is it true I need to “load” for a few weeks?

We don’t recommend loading as most people begin to see and feel the effects of creatine within 7 - 10 days of daily supplementing. However, to see maximum physical improvements in a shorter period of time, some people take a 3-4X dosage (15 - 20 grams) daily for 7 days. The downside is the larger dose is harder on your stomach, plus you’ll go through your creatine more quickly, but you will feel the positive effects more quickly. We don’t recommend one simply because we don’t think it’s necessary.

What happens if I miss a day? Or two? Or three…

Once you’ve reached your peak storage levels, it’s okay to miss a day or two, or even three every once in a while. Just pick the routine back up as quickly as possible.

What are the benefits and how soon should I feel them?

Most people begin to notice larger, well-defined, muscles within the first 7 days of consistent supplementation in conjunction with their exercise routine. Improved cognitive function, sleep, and recovery, have been reported within 5 days. 

How does RETAIN taste?

We don’t recommend consuming the powder dry. Mixed in with water, one of our greatest compliments is consistent reports of an extremely light salty flavor. Mixed into a shake, yogurt, or hydration beverage the taste is not detectable.

When should I take RETAIN?

Ideally before or during exercise, or in the mornings due to the increased energy. 

I work out twice a week, does RETAIN have any benefit?

Absolutely. You’ll still notice increased lean muscle mass, in addition to greater energy, cognitive behavior, and improved sleep.

I have a great diet, why should I supplement creatine?

One whole pound of raw fish or lean meat contains between 1 - 2 grams of creatine, and the body only naturally produces about one gram per day. Daily creatine supplementation is the most reliable and realistic way to maximize creatine stores in your brain and muscles.

Is creatine hard on the kidneys?

No. While early studies suggested the kidneys could be impacted by large creatine doses, the Mayo Clinic - along with other studies - found creatine supplementation at the recommended doses of 3-5 grams per day does not negatively affect the kidneys. However, you should always consult with a physician before starting a supplement routine, especially if you have a history of medical issues.
